As everybody knows, January is a natural time to start thinking ahead and re-evaluating things both in your working and personal life… Is there something you’ve always wanted to do, but you haven’t got around to it yet…?

At the back of my mind, I’ve got a colourful little file of potential adventures I’m dreaming of – they tend to involve travel of course, whether that’s near or far! I’m sure this is the case for many people. Otherwise perhaps it’s trying out a new experience or even returning to something or somewhere that you’ve always loved. Or maybe for you, it could be a complete change of focus or different career?

As time goes by in it’s usual unstoppable way, it’s so easy to find circumstantial reasons not to embark on that thing. It’s generally less effort to stay put!
A couple of months ago, my brother and his wife left the UK and moved to New Zealand – they had only visited the country once. However, they set their hearts upon it and a decision was made… they then proceeded to put all of their energy into following it through.

This clear decisiveness followed by deliberate action has got me thinking… What are we missing out because we’re choosing the simpler path? Life has a funny way of passing us by in the blink of an eye. So this is my encouragement and reminder to you at the start of a new decade – DON’T WAIT. Go and make it happen!
