Effective Approaches for Supporting Students with Eating Disorders
Course Aim
This eating disorders course is suitable for staff caring for pupils ranging from approx. 8 – 18 years old.
Effectively understanding the current rise in eating disorders is key to making sense of the current digital pressures children and young people experience in their day to day lives and the impact on their mental health.
School Nurses and Pastoral Staff will be equipped with essential introductory knowledge, skills and strategies to effectively support pupils with eating disorders, or who are showing signs of troubled eating.
Participants will gain skills and techniques for successfully supporting vulnerable students and managing risk, including the additional impact of Covid-19. Content is suitable for School Nurses, Pastoral Staff and Senior Leaders who are responsible for the wellbeing of students within their schools.
Our expert will guide participants through this topic so that they can gain more understanding and feel better equipped at how to respond in a variety of ways.
