Dealing with Exam Pressure and Anxiety: Successfully supporting your students
Webinar Aim
This webinar has been designed to specifically explore the pressure of exams, and the anxiety it commonly causes among students. Particularly in high-performing schools, students can feel the pressure to produce results and this is sometimes exacerbated by parental expectations. Whilst we all understandably want students to succeed, there is also a need to provide additional support for students who experience significantly increased levels of anxiety.
The webinar is suitable for Pastoral Staff working with students who are preparing for significant exams.
The training will include a pre-webinar survey, as well as an opportunity to discuss experiences with colleagues during the session. Those unable to make the all or part of the session will be able to access the full webinar via a recording.
Key learning objectives include:
- Understanding what the exam represents – uncovering the why
- Exploring and considering triggers, behaviour and any additional factors such as neurodiversity
- Caring for students in distress and assessing where they are at
- Successful calming techniques to use with students
- Managing parents and communicating how they can best support their child
