Improving School Attendance: A practical training event to prepare for the implementation of DfE statutory guidance ‘Working together to improve school attendance’
Course Aim
The DFE guidance ‘Working together to improve school attendance’ will become statutory from 19th August 2024.
This improving school attendance course will look at how you prepare to meet the expectations that have been placed upon schools to ensure compliance. Expectations are also placed on Governing Bodies and Trust Boards as well as Local Authorities and we will consider these throughout the day.
This practical training course has been specifically designed for colleagues that lead strategically on attendance across their setting, incl. Deputy Heads, Vice Principals, Assistant Heads and Attendance Managers.
Key learning objectives include:
- Understanding the ethos and principles behind the DFE guidance
- Analysing the expectations placed on schools, Governing bodies, and Academy Trust Boards
- Effectively implementing the new guidance in your setting and ensuring full compliance
- Exploring the legislative changes in the School Attendance (Pupil Registration) (England) Regulations 2024
- Examining the new National Framework for Penalty Notices
