Level 3 Specialist Safeguarding Training for Independent School Staff

Course Aim

This multi-disciplinary training allows for joined-up team working in line with current national legislation.

Participants will build their knowledge and skills relating to Level 3 Safeguarding by exploring key aspects of child abuse and neglect, and appropriate actions. Contextual case discussion will allow participants to develop confident, safe and up-to-date practice within school. There will be a special focus on the 13-18 age groups and we invite those requiring Level 3 training i.e. School Nurses, SLT, House Staff and PE Coaches.

• Understanding your role in safeguarding students
• Knowing what constitutes abuse and neglect
• Identifying and assessing safeguarding risks and concerns
• Effectively supporting and signposting for safe and respectful relationships in the light of ‘Everyone’s Invited’
• Managing issues of confidentiality and consent
• Sharing information appropriately
• Making safeguarding referrals
• Ensuring successful multi-agency working
• Effective record-keeping
