Mental Health Assessment & Management Skills: Tried-and-tested approaches for supporting your students (and yourself!)
Course Aim
School Nurses and Pastoral Staff are often faced with students suffering with their mental health. It is a heavy requirement for Pastoral Staff and this course is especially designed to be supportive as well as informative.
The training will advance upon colleagues’ existing knowledge, enabling them to make sound mental health assessments within their means and support students effectively. A large part of the course will be interactive and allow participants to develop their listening skills, to ensure supportive and empowering pastoral interactions with students. Not forgetting staff themselves, content will also include managing boundaries, role expectations and exercising self-care. This course is specifically aimed at those who work with students in Year 7 through to Year 13.
