SEND Administration

The Essential Role of the SEND Administrator

Course Aim

The national system for Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) is complex and generates an enormous amount of paperwork, resulting in large administrative workloads for schools. This means the role of the SEND Administrator has become increasingly important in supporting the SENCO and SEND Team to fulfil their responsibilities effectively. This one-day practical training course led by our expert trainer Natalie Packer is designed specifically to provide the SEND Administrator with the necessary skills, knowledge and understanding to fully develop their role. It is suitable for colleagues working in SEND administration within mainstream primary or secondary schools.

Key Learning Objectives include:

  • Considering the role of the SEND Administrator as a part of the SEND Team
  • Developing knowledge and understanding of key SEND guidance, legislation and terminology, including the Children and Families Act and SEND Code of Practice (0 to 25)
  • Sharing practice around effective SEND procedures, systems and paperwork (with exemplars)
  • Understanding key skills and responsibilities of the SEND administrator
  • Communicating effectively with staff, pupils, parents and other professionals.

    Hello,

Are any of the SEN Administrator courses available online please?

Hello Emma, the majority of our training is in-person to maximise the quality and benefits for attendees. We do sometimes run webinars and in this case, if enough colleagues ask for it then we could organise an online version of the training in the future. For now it is solely face-to-face for this topic. If you’d like to go onto our waiting list in case we do organise it online, please do let us know! Thank you
